About the firm
With its office located in Lethbridge, Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd. has operated continuously since 1951, providing a broad scope of legal, engineering and construction surveys in Southern Alberta.
Familiarity and Experience
Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd. is permanently staffed and equipped to provide several field survey crews, who by training and experience are capable of conducting many types of surveys.
The length of service and experience of our employees enables our firm to offer “Familiarity and Experience” with Southern Alberta regarding the survey services we provide. We have established connections with most municipalities and companies in the area and are able to bring that experience to your project.
Our history
The original firm, H.W. Brown & Co Ltd., was established in 1951. It has been run under the name Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd. since 1968.
The original firm is established by Harold Brown, ALS, SLS.
The firm is re-organized under its present name by Tak Okamura, ALS, P.Eng.
The firm begins providing Real Property Reports throughout Southern Alberta.
Dave Williams, ALS, CLS, operates the company from 1997 to 2009.
David Amantea, ALS, CLS, P.Eng. and Thomas Penner, ALS, P.Eng. take over operating the company.
Zachary Prosper, ALS, EIT, partners with them. They continue to run it under the name Brown, Okamura & Associates Ltd.
Meet the team
ALS, CLS, P.Eng.
David graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 1999 and has been involved in different aspects of surveying in Alberta since then. He has a wide variety of experience and would like to talk with you about how he can assist you with the surveying aspect of your project. He specializes in right-of-way, subdivision and Canada Lands Surveys.

Thomas graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2007 and has been involved in different aspects of surveying in Alberta since then. He is very knowledgeable in urban development and construction and has an expertise in residential construction projects.

Zach graduated with a B.Sc. degree in Geomatics Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2015. Zach has worked on numerous projects in his time with Brown Okamura & Associates, both in the field and as a manager. Whether it is a rural or urban subdivision, high precision survey, or large planning project, he can provide the services needed.
